Awarding body
ProQual – Recognised and Approved by Ofqual as a level 6 qualification (equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree)
Course duration
Approximately 1,064 hours time dedication is required to be completed over a two year period. On average one can complete NVQ in 7-12 months
Study method
You will continue to perform your daily on-the-job tasks. The documentation you have can then be re-purposed as evidence towards completing this level 6 NVQ.

Essentially there are 4 steps to passing this NVQ Level 6 in OHS.

No Examinations
You can complete a degree level qualification without having to sit an exam. NVQ level 6 is equal to a Bachelor’s Degree on the UK qualification framework and it is based on evidence you produce of your day to day employment.

IOSH Membership
Older qualifications have been removed by IOSH for not meeting their strict membership criteria. The NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety exceeds the requirement for Graduate Membership (GradIOSH) leading to Chartered Membership (CMIOSH).
Eligibility criteria/ Entry requirement
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. Centers should carry out an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and help plan the assessment. This qualification is approved for candidates aged 19+
